Minerals and Health

Minerals and Health
27 November, 2023

People are deficient in minerals for two major reasons:

1) The food they eat does not provide the needed nutrients, and

2) They lost the ability to properly assimilate the needed nutrients.

Minerals affect every aspect of our bodies. For example, minerals control the pH balance of the body fluids and tissues. Hormone secretions depend upon numerous minerals.  Heart problems are often associated with the lack of the potassium, magnesium and/or organic sodium deficiencies.  Skin problems, in the forms of psoriasis, eczema, rashes and itching, often reflect a lack of silicon.  A lack of the mineral silicon can also result in shaking, loss of hair, gray hair, poor nails and frazzled nerves.  Those who suffer from stomach and digestive disorders or arthritis should look at their sodium intake - are they taking in enough organic sodium?  Or are they consuming too much inorganic sodium (e.g., table salt) in their diets?  Often brain malfunctions are attributable to a lack of certain trace minerals.

Many minerals serve as antioxidants. Others are needed for vitamin utilization, for glutathione production and glutathione enzymes production.  Zinc is an essential trace mineral found in nearly all body tissue and in more than 60 different enzymes.  Among the trace minerals, only iron is found in greater concentrations. Minerals are also crucial for good elimination.  And good elimination is crucial for purity and good health!  Organic minerals, in conjunction with enzymes, neutralize free radicals and other metabolic cell wastes so that they can be eliminated.  Chelated or organic minerals actually draw out the inorganic, harmful minerals from the body’s blood vessels, arthritic joints, etc.

In 1936 a government paper known as Senate Document #264, United States GPO Washington, stated that more than 99% of Americans are deficient in the critical minerals that are required for the maintenance of a healthy body.  This paper stated; “It is bad news to learn from our leading authorities that 99 percent of the American people are deficient in these minerals, and that a marked deficiency in any one or more of the important minerals actually results in disease.” Any upset of the balance, any considerable lack of one or another element, however microscopic the body requirement may be, and we sicken, suffer, shorten our lives.

It has been recorded that 40% of the people who say they feel “good” actually suffer from a chronic disease.  In 1978, 80% of all patients in hospitals had no hydrochloric acid, which is caused by a mineral deficiency.  We cannot live without minerals and we cannot be healthy without a full array of minerals.

We derive our minerals from soil, via the food we eat, but today our farm soils are far more depleted than ever before.  This becomes obviously apparent when we compare organically grown food with commercially grown food.  Commercially grown food is deficient in minerals compared to organic foods and in some cases as much as 400%.

Organic Foods vs Supermarket Foods: Element Levels

The organically grown food averaged:

63% higher in calcium

78% higher in chromium

48% higher in copper

73% higher in iodine

59% higher in iron

118% higher in Lithium

138% higher in Magnesium

178% higher in Manganese

68%% higher in Molybdenum

91% higher in Potassium

390% higher in Selenium

86% higher in Silicon

159% higher in Organic sodium (The type of sodium we need)

133% higher in Strontium

60% higher in Zinc

The commercially grown produce beat out organically grown in following heavy metals:

40% higher in Aluminum

29% higher in Lead

25% higher in Mercury

28% higher in Rubidium

Did you notice above that Selenium was 390% higher in organically grown produce then commercially grown?  Did you know that a deficiency of selenium is significantly associated with increased cancer? Vitamin E and selenium interact to provide strong protection against oxidative damage to the liver. Without selenium, Vitamin E cannot be as effective in protecting the liver. A weak liver is associated with increased cancer and other diseases. Selenium and Vitamin A work together to help prevent cancer. Selenium is needed for the production of Glutathione (GSH), and everyone with chronic or degenerative disease is deficient in GSH; no exceptions.  Glutathione, by the way, is required to produce the most important enzymes for detoxification of our liver and every cell in our bodies.

The foods one finds on the commercial market are not only deficient in minerals, but contain toxic chemicals, pesticides, herbicides and various other chemicals that slowly accumulate in our bodies.  Many of these chemicals are carcinogenic. Any ingestion of unnatural chemical adds stress and imposes a greater need for more minerals. Much of our nation’s farmland is depleted, unbalanced and polluted with these highly toxic chemicals that sooner or later enters our ground water, our oceans and the fish in our streams. Fallout from jet exhaust, industrial pollution, polluted water, chemicals, carcinogens, and medical drugs contained in human and animal waste, enters the ground water. Many of our seeds have been modified, buds and fruits have been chemically treated, and the food packaging is treated with chemicals. The fruits on the commercial market are generally picked unripe and undeveloped so that they have a longer shelf life as unripe fruits have not yet developed its enzymes. Then, of course, man further destroys the value of food through cooking, freezing, preserving, microwaving, pasteurizing, and now worst of all - through irradiation. As with cooking, irradiation annihilates precious enzymes and vitamins:  the very health elements of the food.

Organic Advisory Service of the Organic Retailers & Growers Association of Australia (ORGAA) compared nutrient content of organic and conventionally grown vegetables.

The mineral depletion of commercially grown produce gets worse every season. Even organic food, in most cases, has less nutrition than did in 1936. Due to the cost of doing business today it is prohibitive to allow proper soil recovery before planting another crop. Farmers used to replant a crop every other year to allow the soil to rest and rejuvenate.  As a result, mineral deficiencies are likely to be a serious problem in the world today, and even more so in commercially grown food.

Why are minerals so important to good health?  All nutritional elements such as enzymes, vitamins, amino acids, proteins, fats, sugars, carbohydrates, etc., as well as all body functions are dependent upon minerals.  We cannot live in the healthiest way possible without adequate minerals.

Another factor seldom referred to when speaking of nutrition is the electrical element. Our bodies must have electrical energy. This electrical energy provides the life and ability for the body’s enzymes, vitamins and amino acids and all chemical and biological functions, including the nerve currents and cellular electric energy.  The lack of light or electrical energy is associated with old age, sickness and disease.  When cells do not have energy, they die.  As a measurable, nutritional element, light energy is what gives life and function to the each cell.  Not only can the electrical quantity of individual cells be measured, but also the electrical currents generated by the collective cell radiance of individual organs. All this is dependent on minerals.

We can categorize minerals into two different types; minerals that conduct electricity and minerals that do not.  Minerals that can conduct electricity are termed electrolytes and minerals that cannot conduct electricity are known as trace minerals.  We need both.  Electrolytes provide conductivity of electrical bio-energy, which every cell needs. Cells cannot process this energy without trace minerals. Electrolytes provide numerous life-essential functions and are used in every chemical and electrical activity in the body. Trace minerals must be available in these processes or it’s not possible for the body to use electrolytes. A deficiency in electrolytes will cause a serious problem for the body and is associated with almost every health issue people have.

Trace minerals are truly health and life essential. Many however, remain a mystery in medical science.  We know little of what they do, but we do know that they are essential for health. It has been proven that cancer and numerous other chronic and degenerative diseases are associated with both electrolyte and trace minerals deficiencies.  Selenium, choline, germanium, iodine, iron, rubidium, silica and zinc, has been directly associated with most cancers and more than 33% of the people who die from cancer die from electrolyte deficiencies (hyponatremia, hypercalciumia).

When the body is deficient in minerals, it is deficient in light or electrical energy and, therefore, deficient in health. It is this light or life that feeds radiant power to our cells, organs and to our enzymes. Enzymes perform every chemical action in our body. We cannot live without enzymes.  Lower this light or life activity and you reduce the potential of every metabolic process in the body.

Since people are lacking minerals (or any coenzyme), the corresponding organs and functions of the body are restricted and damaged, causing further toxicity and congestion. The average lifespan of a red blood cell is 120 days.  When it dies, it must be replaced.  However, if the body has not been supplied with the proper bio-nutrients (bio means life), the physical structure and its organs and tissues are unable to rejuvenate themselves.  The body begins its gradual process of deterioration.

An important fact misunderstood by most people: there is not mineral, no food, no medicine, no drug and not even herbs ever cure anyone from anything. The only thing these substances can do is to help the body cure itself.
